Education: Misión Huascarán begins the 2023 school year with more than 200 teaching hours in the Mountains of Huaraz

During the month of April, more than 600 digital books were read in the 6 schools where Misión Huascarán is involved.

The NGO Misión Huascarán, through its education program, has been included in the Institutional Educational Project (PEI) of the six schools where they operate, with this they are include in the annual planning of the UGEL for the period 2023-2026 in schools from Amashca, Canchapampa, Congar, Huascao, Pariacaca and Punyan de Huaraz.

Since the beginning of March, the NGO has carried out approximately 30 teaching hours per week, which is equivalent to about 240 academic hours between March and April.

This has been possible thanks to a team of teachers who formally teach classes and integrate the curriculum of each institution, using tools such as tablets (146) and digital books, and taking advantage of the space provided by the functional library.

The objective of Misión Huascarán for school-age children in the area is to provide a quality complementary education, improving skills such as reading comprehension, critical thinking and providing adequate infrastructure for better learning, such as the creation of complete libraries in each participating school.

As a goal, Misión Huascarán plans to close the school year with the reading of 15,000 digital books in all schools.

It should be remembered that the non-profit organization Misión Huascarán seeks to innovate and guide the pedagogical and institutional processes in the Sierra of Huaraz. This achievement has been possible thanks to the education team and the generous contributions of various benefactors, who have carried out the project as part of the NGO’s Annual Education Work Plan.
